I've been wanting to write for the past few days, but I just couldn't get the words to come. Until tonight while worshipping, I realized the perfect topic for a post: Jesus.
I know what you're thinking: Leslie, you write about Jesus pretty much every week.
This is true. But I've never made a post directly answering the simple but profound question of: who is Jesus?
The fact is, some of you may not know Him. You may know of Him or about Him, but you don't know Him personally. I hope tonight that will change.
First, I will start off by saying who Jesus is to me. He is my best Friend ever, my Savior, my Redeemer, my King, my Lord, my Master, my Teacher, my comfort, my greatest joy, my peace, my Rock, my God. And so much more.
I couldn't make it a single second without Him. He is Who wakes me up every morning and gives me peace to sleep at night. He helps me throughout the day. He is everything to me.
It is because of Him that I have purpose. My purpose is to share Jesus' love and message of grace with anyone and everyone I possibly can.
Who is Jesus? Jesus is the Messiah. I know He is because I can see Him so clearly in Old Testament prophecy.
Look at Isaiah 53:5 (a prophecy regarding the Messiah from the Jewish prophet Isaiah): "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed."
If that isn't a picture of Jesus paying for our sins on the cross, I don't know what is.
Jesus is Who paid for your sin. He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He loves you so much that He suffered a horrible death on a cross for you. He rose from the dead and defeated death, sin, hell, and the grave for you.
He is the Messiah, and He wants to be your Savior. If you give your life to Him, you will be saved from your sin and the punishment for it in an awful, awful place called hell. You will be guaranteed eternal life in Heaven.
If you don't know Jesus, He can be all of these things to you, and even better, He wants to. If you have questions about Jesus and Who He is, please feel free to email me at lesliejessie20@gmail.com or to contact me on Instagram or Twitter. Or if you know me, text or call me.
If God has shown you your need for salvation and you want to give your life to Jesus, I encourage you tonight to pray to Him, ask Him for forgiveness of your sins, and confess your faith in Him. God promises in His Word, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13) and "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9).
It really is this simple to have a relationship with the Lord God Almighty and to have eternal life in Heaven. I pray you say yes to this incredible offer.
