8 days ago, my life completely changed. I walked across the stage as a high school graduate. I said goodbye to the last four years that have played a major role in who I am today. It was so crazy. It was one of those moments that you just know you will never forget. While my life will never be the same as it was when I walked the halls of PFHS, I know that the best is truly yet to come. God has so much in store for me, and as I gave my Valedictorian speech last Tuesday, I could look out and see God's faithfulness over the years. This post is to update my readers on what I have been up to the past week and to share what God has been sharing with me! Scroll past this graduation picture to hear about my senior trip to California!
I am sure many of you have heard of the well known pastor of Churchome in Los Angeles and Seattle, Judah Smith. I have been listening to Judah's sermons since last summer, and I have always said someday I wanted to attend one of Churchome's services. The dream became a reality last Wednesday at their LA campus. Seeing my California brothers and sisters worshipping and hearing the Word of God was so encouraging to me. I live in the south where being a Christian is very much encouraged, but they live in a place where they are most likely the minority. They are an inspiration to me that they stand strong in the faith no matter if it is what is popular where they live or not. Judah, keep preaching! Churchome, keep serving! God, keep working!
The day after we went to Churchome, we went to Disneyland! It was so fun to just relax and enjoy time with family and friends and my God. That might sound odd since I was at an amusement park not a church or Bible study, but with the Holy Spirit living within me, every second of my life is spent with God. He promised to never leave me, and there is never a moment that He and I are not together even if I do not always feel Him. I truly believe that God loves seeing His children happy and having a good time. I think seeing me laughing on Space Mountain or smiling as I ate Disneyland ice cream (which is SO much better than normal ice cream obviously) made my Heavenly Daddy smile even bigger. I challenge you to see God in everything because I assure you He is there. Also, how cool is it that they had graduation cap Mickey ears?
I went to a lot of places in California for my senior trip, and I learned and saw many different things. The main lesson that the Lord taught me and what I want you to understand is that God is everywhere and He has so much planned that we do not even know about yet. There is way more of the world that I have not seen that I have seen, and that itself shows me that I have plenty of room to grow in my walk with Christ.
