I Am Yours

Updated: Jun 20, 2020

It is a new year. Everyone is discussing resolutions and areas he or she would like to improve. For me, I just simply want to be God's. Completely and wholly God's. When you are surrendered to Him and His Will, everything else will fall right into place. This being the year that I graduate high school, become an adult, and start college, I could easily worry about every single little detail. Instead, I choose to trust in God and who He is. I will be confident in the fact that I am His daughter. 1 Peter 2:9 -10 tell us that we are the chosen people of God. That should be enough for us. This year, let's just place our hope in the fact that we are His.

It can be easy to get caught up in the ways of the world, to want to be "better." There is nothing wrong in desiring to become a better person, but you will never accomplish that goal on your own. You will give up your resolution within a week or less. You have to rely on Jesus to change you. He would love to make you new again, to give you a new start and a new life. It is simply up to you to ask Him to do so.

Last night before I went to sleep, I prayed long and hard for the year ahead. There are so many needs to be met, especially when one looks at the condition of our world. The good news is that our God has a plan. He is not viewing the world as we do: in worry and frustration. He is seeing it as a place where He will redeem, restore, and take care of His people. He is not stressed because He knows He has this all under control. We need to go into 2018 with this same mindset and assurance.

The year of 2018. Let it be the year that God's people let Him mold them into who He intended them to be. Let it be the year that we all experience God more than we ever have before. Let it be the year that we claim His promises to us and rejoice in them. When we rest in the promise that we are His, every aspect of our lives will change. You do not need to make a resolution to have a better year than you may have had last year. You just need Jesus Christ.
