Where to Worship

Updated: Jun 20, 2020

Where are we supposed to worship God? The answer is simple: everywhere. In every aspect of our lives, we should bring honor and glory to the Name of Jesus. There should not be any place where we do not feel like we can worship our King. He made it all; it is all His. He deserves every ounce of our praise in any and every location.

The Bible's criteria for worship is that we worship in Spirit and in truth. A church building is not required, and a well known singer is not required either. If the Holy Spirit is in the midst, you can worship. I think a lot of times Christians get into this mindset that we can only worship at church on Sunday morning, or at a Christian concert or conference. This is not true. God is with us everywhere we go. He does not just magically show up at church; He is with you Monday through Saturday just as much. Church is important no doubt about that; it is just not the only place we can encounter the presence of God.

God revealed this concept to me as I was having my quiet time with Him tonight. With my bedroom door shut, my Bible open, and "Forever" by Kari Jobe playing, I lifted my hands with tears rolling down my cheeks. This was a moment of pure worship as the Holy Spirit stirred in my soul. It was as if all problems and concerns faded away, and this is because my eyes were completely fixed on Jesus and what He has done, is doing, and will do in my life. He will meet us wherever we are. He does not require us to be in a church building to experience Him.

If you need time with your Lord and Savior, do not put it off until Sunday morning. Worship Him tonight, worship Him tomorrow at work/school, worship Him at breakfast, worship Him at bedtime, and worship Him on Sunday morning. Make your life a life of worship. See Jesus in the little moments and the big moments too. He is worthy of your worship and praise today and everyday.

"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." -John 4:23-24 KJV

"Give unto the LORD the glory due to his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness," -Psalms 92:2 KJV
