What's Your Label?

Updated: Jun 20, 2020

If someone were to ask you what's your label, would you a say a parent, spouse, student, teacher, or doctor? Or would you say that you are just undeserving, unworthy, and unlovable? The first set of titles are important, but there is one that is more important. The second set are lies straight from the devil. If someone asked me who I was, I would smile and say, "A daughter of the one true King." Is being God's son or daughter your most valued title, or are you placing another above it? While reading the rest of this post, just ponder on who you see yourself as. Think about the label you place on yourself and whether or not that is how God labels you.

I know I am guilty of it. We tend to put our identity in another person or physical things. We get caught up in labels and titles that will ultimately have no importance in the Kingdom of God. On judgement day, it will not matter that you graduated from Duke, or that you were married, or that you were a successful lawyer. What will matter is whether or not you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. This is the only label that will hold relevance.

Maybe it's not that you have an issue putting things before God, maybe it's that you do not see your own worth. Well, I am glad to let you know that the same God who created the mountains and the ocean created you, too. Of all the marvelous things He created, He loved you enough that He looked at you and said, "I'll make you in My image." Not only that, He could not imagine an eternity without you, and He could not bare to let you suffer the affliction of your own sin. To keep these two things from happening, He decided to come live on the earth He created and then sacrifice Himself. If you were "worthless" like the enemy likes to say, Jesus would not have given His perfect life for your sinful one. You are priceless, worthy, and deserving, and the best part is that you did not earn these titles. The Lord gave them to you freely and willingly because it is how He sees you.

So, decide today to label yourself as a qualified, lovable child of God. Realize the importance of knowing Christ, and conduct yourself in a way a Christian should. Resist the lies of the devil, and fight him with God's truth. The Lord loves you and wants you to see you how He does.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8 KJV

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." -Genesis 1:27 KJV

Now. enjoy this picture of pumpkins because it's fall :)
