It's Monday aka blog night! This week, we are going to discuss the amazing, incredible fact that once we have accepted Jesus into our hearts, the King of kings lives within us. As I read my devotional tonight (New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp, which you should totally check out), the main point that stuck out to me was that Christ lives within us. While many different points were made in the devotional, this was the one that the Holy Spirit really spoke to me about. To be honest, I was a little worried today about what I was going to write about, but God always provides.
I know that I can sometimes become fearful about certain situations. An anatomy test, leading a song in church, and a rival volleyball game are a few of the things that make me feel nervous. Maybe it's something different for you, but we all get that same feeling. You know the one, the butterflies in your stomach and the raging thoughts. The truth is, though, as Christians these feelings are silly and unnecessary. We have the Almighty God literally living in us. Jesus is with you through every fear and every trial. When you put an anatomy test up against Jesus Christ, it is almost comical that you would ever even consider stressing about it.
Are a bad grade on a test, a missed note in a song, and a loss in a volleyball game things I should let stand in my way of doing something for the honor and glory of God? Absolutely not. If I do all three of those things for the glory of God, I will be successful in His eyes. Doing something for His glory and not your own means He will be the One strengthening you. You no longer have to be anxious because you are not relying on your own strength. If you go into the battle with the Lord with you, you have nothing to fear. If you're a child of God, He's always with you. You will never go through one moment in your life without Him there. So, stop living in worry, and start living in trust. The Savior of the world is with you, for you, and will never leave you no matter what. Start living in that wonderful reassurance that He is always and forever with you.
